The Norfolk & Western's #1218

 
Now just an "artifact" at the Transportation Museum in Roanoke, #1218 is still one impressive piece of engineering! This was the first time I stood next to a steam loco (at least that I can recall!), and I can't get over how much larger it seems than my imagination had placed it!
