Dinky car in Springfield!
On our way to dinner before the Smothers Brothers show, we were passed by this cute "just enough"-sized car of uncertain make. Hopefully my Alert Readers will remind me what they suspected it was . . . !
Goggomobile is what sprang to my mind, but i am thinking the Heinkel or the Isetta - yes, it is coming back to me, I feel a cold wind -- are good candidates all 3 at:
The page dedicated to the isetta seems to give a definite feeling that there was only ONE rear wheel. That was what I sorta recollected, but unsure in 2006. Both versions exist it appears. What, does one save on a differential that way? Did you notice the Topolino in red and black? That was the one that your bassinet fit across back "shelf" of and you generally dozed off, on the streets of AA.
I see an Isetta, too - I remember that the way into the vehicle is through a front door - the steering wheel is affixed to the door! Mr. Mondazzi lived at 367 Massapequa Avenue and either he had an Isetta, or someone visited him in one. THL,Sr. knew the car's name.

Aha! The Isetta looks like it -- the most notable feature being the RH side mirror, clearly a large circular one.
